The Jackie Dietz we all loved so much sadly left us on July 5th, 2020.
Jackie is remembered by her twin sister Jennifer (John), brother Jeff (Shelley), and sister Joan (Mike), nieces Olivia and Riley, nephews Anthony and Tommy, and step-father Christopher Fahey. Jackie joins her beloved father Thomas, mother Beverly, and uncle Rodney in our memories. Jackie's extended family includes the cousins she grew up with, Pam (Allen) Martin and Amy (Jonathan) Weston, and the family of her in-laws, the McLaughlins. And finally, Jackie would also insist on special rememberances for the dear friends she can now reunite with, Greg, Tom, and Maureen.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1964, Jackie and her twin sister Jennifer were the Dietz twins from day one. Jackie would thrive alongside Jennifer through high school (both were Honor Students and Gablettes at Coral Gables High School), both would graduate with Honors from the University of Florida, and both would continue on to Advanced Degrees, Jackie a Dentist and Endodontist, Jennifer an Attorney. Jackie thrived as an Endodontist, using her almost magical healing touch to relieve thousands of previously fearful patients of their pain and their fear.
Please remember her for the strong and powerful woman she was, the trailblazer she was, and for the Ironman triathlete she was (Jackie is a three time Ironman finisher, two 140.6 and one 70.3.) Remember that infectious laugh, for the way she made you smile, and for the way she would make friends with complete strangers while in line at the grocery store. This was the Jackie we all loved.
If you want to do something for Jackie, buy yourself a bag of dry cat food and keep it strapped into the back seat your car at all times. And wherever you are (it's fine if you're in the middle of traffic, it's what Jackie would do), stop and feed any hungry stray cat you see. This really and truly is what Jackie did, it's been years since Jackie drove anywhere without a bag of cat food in her car. So feed a stray cat on Jackie's behalf, look up to the sky, and feel the sunbeam from heaven that Jackie will send to you.

We suggest making sure you are somewhere with fast and reliable internet to attend Jackie's memorial. Arriving 30 to 60 minutes early is suggested, just because it gives you time to deal with any little technical glitch that may crop up. We suggest using a computer, but Zoom on the phone works fine too.
Zoom has also gradually become secure, so although all those headlines about it were true, Zoom is secure enough now. We have also taken all the extra steps to also make sure everything about Jackie's memorial will be safe and secure.
Visit the guestbook and leave a memorial, a funny story, an anecdote about Jackie. If you would like to email Jennifer directly, Click here.
